Child & Young Person Focused Welfare Information
We’re committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all children and young people to enjoy basketball. The safety and wellbeing of children is a priority at Casey Basketball, guided by the Victorian Child Safe Standards and best practice in safeguarding young people.

Reporting Concerns About a Child
If you have concerns about your own safety or that of a friend, teammate or other young person at Casey Basketball, you can seek help and support immediately.
Steps you can take:
- Speak to a trusted adult (parent, coach, team manager)

Support for Adults in Our Community
Casey Basketball recognises the important role that adults – including parents, carers, guardians, coaches and volunteers – play in supporting the welfare and development of our members.
This section provides guidance and information on your responsibilities, how to support young people safely and how to report and respond to welfare concerns.

If you become aware of a welfare issue, concern or suspected harm:
- Document and report the concern internally using our procedures
- Notify Casey Basketball Child Safety Officer (welfare@caseybasketball.com.au)
- Follow your obligations under relevant child safety laws and policies
- Engage support for children and families as needed
Casey Basketball follows relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme, to ensure all concerns are handled appropriately and with urgency.
